When God created love, he meant good Just like when he created money and food He tried to give the humans a special gift Something that would cause their hearts to lift When God created love, he thought of smiles Of happy couples walking together for miles He thought of happiness, he thought of laughter Of living happily ever after When God created love, I’m sure he meant well He wanted to make a beautiful natural thing no one could create or sell He dreamed of passionate moments, with no borders or bars Of lovers holding hands, of kisses under the stars But of one thing he didn’t think, he’ll have to admit it’s true God forgot to think of me, brokenhearted and crying for you He never thought of those who love without being loved He never thought of tears and of hearts that starved When God created love he forgot about the brokenhearted The ones who fought for their love and never departed He created a new sort of pain, without even knowing how And because God forgot, I am who I am now
