Dear Father,

by Desiree Martin - Aquarius

Dear Father,

How could you take it away from me?
The one thing that allows me to be
Without it I will surely die
But you can’t understand, you wont even try
Your only reaction, when you see my scars
Is to push me further, to put up bars
Anything to keep me in
That’s the only way you feel you can win
Blinded by your power trip
Away from me, my freedom you will rip
I need the drugs to escape my problems
But you wont even acknowledge them, much less help me solve them
I need them in order to survive
To envelop the pain that lies inside
Your understanding is all that I ask for
Only because this shit I can no longer endure

Reason for writing:

I wrote this a while ago. Since Ive been locked up in a mental institution and my father was forced to recognize who his daughter really is.....
