Waiting For A Choice

by Matthias L. - Capricorn

again there is a place
to let empty vessels appear
as more than they are
have it this way or maybe another

feeling numb
while all this pain intensifies
and there is a glimpse
that tomorrow may well be
just the day after today

do you still feel that great
even though it isn't right
advancing into the pandemonium
of information gaps
it is still the same as ever
with only an alternate point of view

daily chores that bear no other meaning
than their existence they're supposed to undermine
washed up on the shores of reality
it seems as though nothing can stop them now

and so I sit here and I try
to find a reason for this
 hoping that the theory
of cause and effect still applies

however, I'm uncertain
whether there is
a way to change fate or the future
into all of our collected dreams
the flotsam of our fantasies
the anticipated joy on the beach-combers faces

a vision of ourselves
or a reflection of missing relief
and so we stand fast and wait for a choice
denying the home truths to our minds

turning around to see our traces are fading
like the echoes of our last attempt to break free
