An Evening's Essence

by Matthias L. - Capricorn

So you got me again
And I thought I'd escaped
Trapped me again
In a prison I've seen burnt and razed

And now I'm already using your words
The few that I've learned
A winter has passed
And now I've turned and I've turned

These are the fields
Where nothing grows for years
Where sheets of ice
Are all to catch your tears

But cracks are now appearing
In the coldness crystalline
Flowers spreading widely
And we're just watching
Paralyzed

Turned again
Like a leaf in the wind
Lost again
In a deep labyrinth

Whispering words into nowhere
To meet the silence therein
