Like We Did from the Start

by FireFly - Libra

If I could I would give you one more meal of reality-
But I don't think you could swallow-
Or even chew on it-

Your nor queen or magistrate-
Your nobility is fabricated-
As much as mine-

The woman in you has forgiven-
But the child in you has not-
And I understand this-
Let us not play games-
Let us not play these roles-

I've had enough-
What rules do you abide to-
The chess pieces are missing from my board-
And the time has come to relinquish-
The crown you wear in front-
Of your false audience, you're false admirers-
I know, cause I've had them too-

Just take one second-
Please look inside-
Feel the imprisonment that you broke free from-
You broke free into another one-
This time though-
You learn you have a new impediment-
And it's not me-
And it's not you-
It's the loose ends you forgot to glue-
It's relaxing in satin sheets-
With your head still reeling into uncertainty-
And the cries from a million prisoners-
Still waiting to be set free-
I know, cause that was me-

It's up to you-
Understand the scope-
The power you own-
The strength in each new mandate-
You make for yourself-
Walking up the spiral staircase-
With a single Roman candle in hand-
You held your own for so long-
To make all the ghosts gasp and skeletons crumble-
And may be some day you'll meet me-
On an overcast day-
And we'll understand each other-
With just one look in each other's eyes-

Like we did from the start-
