Trapped within a silken net Strewn high above the earth Far above nights canopy Among the stars new birth Looking down upon the land Eyes glistening with each wave So engrossed in awe of sight Each moment here I save ---- I sit among my friends Yet all seem unaware That there’s no tie between us No trust between our stare No thoughts are shared together For fear we might believe That we’re all trapped together And there’s no way to leave ----- Wrap your hands around my sultry smile Kiss away the tears of my denial Trail your fingers down my pallid skin And grip the part of me that rests within ----- Walk with me into the storms Although you fear the thunder Dive with my into the waves And let us sink down under Weep with me into the night For all the pain within Die with me upon the rose And leave behind our sin Fall with me from heaven’s edge And plummet from the sky Dance with me far from this place Leaving only you and I ----- Gentle moonlight sits upon her face As her sweet lips upon my cheek are placed The glowing embers deep within her eyes Are telling sobbing words and sad good-bye’s ----- You bare my gifts of ignorance You capture all my tears My heart bleeds empty dreams of pain Alone throughout the years I thought you would be there for me To hold me when I weep I feel as though I’m lost in lies Without a kiss to keep ----- Fear drenched in my timid eyes Made foolish to watching skies Seeking not the one to blame Or the sigh which speaks her name Fear frozen in breath of day Made anew by darkening way Be still my heart that beats affright Within the frigid hand of night Sprung from pain this bitter chill Oh freeze of wind, may heart be still ----- The sadness that remains within My tired and restless soul Is straining to seek silence Within this darkened hole My dreams prey on my madness The songs of past remain I yearn for empty stillness My heart aches in disdain Without a way to find me No hope of joy to hold Escaped where life’s escaping Alone in deepening cold
