My Darling, My Angel

by Lance James Green - Cancer

Whenever I saw you, I couldn't help but smile.
I never let you out of my sight, not even for a little while.
Everything about you always had me so amazed.
And everytime you spoke to me, I became just dazed.
Because you are
My darling, my angel.

And then one day someone took your precious life,
Just when I was planning on making you my wife.
The sweet guy you used to know so well became a hateful recluse,
For without you, my life was of no use
Because you are
My darling, my angel.

You left me alone in this cold barren place.
I can no longer find you; you left without a trace.
I long for the day when I'll again feel your soft sweet embrace.
I'd die a thousand painful deaths just to see your smiling face
Because you are
My darling, my angel.

You were the only woman my eyes could see
Now, I ask God to take my life. I'm down on my knee.
I'll walk alone until I see you and you see me.
Because you will always and forever be...
My darling, my angel.
