She looks ate her calendar and counts the days again But its the same as its always been She feels all alone and needs someone's help But how could anyone possibly understand what is felt? She counts today as the tenth day Ten days ago her childhood went away Her innocence went along with her childhood too Ten days ago she thought "What harm can it do?" But she can't do anything about her mistake now So she has to find a way to tell him somehow She can't help but notice when she walks into the sunlight That her decision she decided just doesn't feel right But she knows its the thing to do and hopes he agrees He'll argue at first but soon he'll understand and see As she walks she passes a park and watches the children And she can't help but wonder how it could've been It's not supposed to be this way, she's only seventeen She already feels a hundred, but no one's said life's easy She's starting to wonder if her choice is right for her But its been ten days and what about ten months in the future No one will be around, especially not him He may promise he will but everyone knows what'll happen She starts to cry as she knocks on his door She says she's ten days late and doesn't want it to be more He holds her and tells her everything will be okay And tells her not to worry, he'll do anything she'll say She drys her eyes and says there's on;y one thing to do He looks into her eyes, mind, and soul and instantly he knew She asks him to take her today To make all the hurt and loneliness go away He tells her she could change her mind She could go thru it and he'll be there the whole time She shakes her head because she knows it's not true That he'll be gone when there's hard work to do There's tears in his eyes as he hugs her one last time Because he knows it's like she's reading his mind He knows he means it for now but not for later When later is going to be when it really matters He takes her hand and leads her out the door Because she's ten days late and they don't want it to be more
