Glass House

by Vicki Higgins - Cancer

I felt it was there,
My little glass house,
Ready to smash around me.
I was so afraid,
I couldn't breathe for fear,
But at the same time
It was nice.
I felt self contained
And so happy.

But one day it broke,
My little glass house.
My life shattered.
The peices collapsed.
I felt vulnerable,
But then I changed.
My life was so small
But now I can breathe.
Free of my little glass house.
