Grapefruit and Navel Rings (For Kristen)

by Heather Williams - Libra

I was rereading through my old yearbook
I know it isn't that old and two years wasn't a decade ago
But the sweet words of friendship still ring through
Time and time again the same old people
Wrote the same old thing
Saying that they'd be there for me
Time passed on through high school
We went together to get our navels peirced
Today I went and bought you grapefruit juice
And you told me how I take the ring out
I thought you were leaving me
To go to college and it broke my heart
Through the clouds a ray of sun hit me
With the news of going to school here
And living together

Reason for writing:

I've had so many crappy friends and most of them have some other person they are dating. Kristen is the best friend anybody could ever had...she's always been there and I hope she knows I appreciate her. :)
