Alone In a desert

by Vicki Higgins - Cancer

Alone in a desert with nothing to say.
I cry sometimes and suffer each day.
Alone in a desert with nothing to do.
A sad little song that reminds me of you.
Alone in a desert with no way to breathe.
A wall around me so I cannot leave.

Alone in a desert, no where to turn.
A memory that shakes me and helps me to burn.
Alone in a desert, so lost and afraid.
I just wander around for my endless days.
Alone in a desert I can see something new.
A different perspective, something of you.

Alone in a desert someone walks in.
A familiar face with a memory so thin.
Not alone in a desert with some new life.
An end to my pain and twisting knife.
Not alone in the desert but something has changed.
I know you are here but I forgot your name.

Not alone in a desert but i dont need you.
I forgot why I cried so I guess you should go.
Not alone in a desert because you left something old,
That familiar feeling that is worth more than gold.
Not alone in a desert because I have a new bliss.
You left me seeing there is much more than this.
