Slow Poison

by FireFly - Libra

Welcome to sunset road-
Where smiles are given so generously-
Friends in rows-
Living for that chance-
To be released from the hostage shopping-
Of lipstick love-

Walking thru the market-
In the hob-nob district-
Prostitutes on the red light stretch-
And good girls-
With hidden dark sides of the moon-
To be laid out drunk-
Lipstick love, what are you waiting for?….

Good karma, is there enough to rescue me?-
The bed light on-
In crescent bed sheets-
She’s turns me on-
To believe the rewards-
Before the fall-
Addicted once again-
Smeared in lipstick love-
She holds me down-
Long enough to touch my shadows-
She’s the kindest of them all, she knows-
She’s the only one that shows a face-

Says were soul mates-
Where else have I heard that?-
Is it her desperation-?
Festering long enough to be exploding love-
Above me-

I’m wide awake though-
I’m not sleeping-
My ears listen to the tender aches-
In your whispers-
Hear it above the daily duties in the radio noise-
I know you tear yourself over and over again-
Walking away from the light-
Into the flames-

The tension in you been wound up-
So tight-
When I get up-
I’m going to celebrate-
Away from the tempest-
Away from the turmoil-
To everything new and good-
That feeds me life-
Get you out of lipstick love-
The slow poison-
