I look at you, And I smile, But you look at him, All the while. I want you, You're in my head, But you want him, Him instead. There's nothing I'd do, To hurt you in any way, Yet you still accept him, And all the games he'll play. I treat you right, Never ill, Do what I can for you, Despite this still. A good friend, That's me, But is that all I'm ever, Destined to be? He betrays you, And you just don't care? It's simply too much, For me to bear. You're scared to be hurt, To be alone again, You believe his lies, As they flow off the pen. But alone is something, You'll never be, No matter what, You'll always have me. I'll stand by you, Through thick and thin, Whether you loose, Or if you win. One day you'll see, You'll come around, You'll seek his love, But it won't be found. And it will be that time, At love's supposed end, That you'll discover, I'm more than just a friend.
