five little children

by chritty - Aries

five little children standing at the gate’
waving goodbye to the woman
they soon will grow to hate
her blue eyes twinkle in the sun
and she blows us a kiss as she drives off in her mercedes leaving us alone
five little children watching TV
eating peanut butter and jelly
sandwhiches and doing homework on the floor
daddy gets home and ask where is mommy
Thomas shrugs and says the bitch took off
I start to cry cause I know he is lying
Jasen looks sadly at him and says he’s right
she left dad
She will be back children Im sure she just went to the store or maybe she
had an emergency at the hospital or something
he looks sadly down at the floor
as if he was trying to convince himself
you guys hungry lets go out for pizza
five little children pile up in the minivan
and are driven to Happy Land
Me and Thomas sit down with dad at the booth
the other boys run off
to the game room
Thomas puts his hands on my ears
and I try to remove them
I hear him say she’s not coming back dad
she left us. but why
five little children eat until their faces are stained with
pizza sauce
they return home
 and daddy alone
puts the five little children to bed
wipes the tears off their cheeks
and kisses them on the forehead
tells them sweet dreams and that he loves them
our father is left alone
to raise five little children on his own
