And Then I Danced

by Nicole - Aquarius

Not long ago did I pray and dream
For someting that finally came to me
How was I to know the price of you
That nothing's for free and I had to pay it thru
But the devil came into my life
And danced all around into the night
He begged and pleaded for me to join him
And offered me the mystery of you, the idea of sin
The devil lit my angel wings on fire
Dropped them down and promised me higher
He dropped me next to you, took me by the hand
Led me away from my soul, and then I danced

I danced into the night and into your heart
Not wanting to stop, not wanting to fall apart
The devil danced right by my side and sent me higher
Pushing me to keep up but I got lonely and tired
For when you play the devil's game
Nothing you remember is ever the same
And when you play the devil's way
No one is around til you've got it all payed
The faster I danced, the farther I became into you
And the further I went, the harder it was to remain true
Soon I let everything go and down I went
Right into the world I'd left twisted and bent

And then I danced back into the light
Where everything and its colors were right
The mystery of you faded into devil flames
And I watched without burning of regret and pain
I was sent on a trip that led me thru mystery and time
That led me to all unknown corners of my mind
I've made it back without falling into the devil's soul
And with enough to keep me complete and full
But sometimes the devil visits with ideas of sin
Asking me to dance back into his mind of ruins
I always somehow manage to close the door
Before I slip into his dream and ask for more
