I took your words Those wicked words you unleashed And pinned them to me Like clouds in the sky I moved methodically through life Lost and oblivious to you My head was heavy in polluted dreams Squeezed out by your words Into uncontrollable down pour To the tops of my feet. Your words jolted my spirit, Others saw it in my eyes Your words, scratching their surfaces In painfully ruthless bolts of lightning. Without a single bit of your care My confidence pruned and shriveled Vanished eventually into the air Exposed by your need for love Burned by your lack of it Those wicked words you unleashed In torturous wind Spun me sick like a cloud And killed me just the same.
