After six days and six nights
Of thunderstorms, hurricanes, and earthquakes
A few last bangs trail off in the eleventh hour
. . . .
Looking though the
Dew settling on my eyelashes
I wake, opening my worn eyes to the
Non-chalant
-It was nothing-
Morning.
The sun that had ran away
Bravely came back when it was safe
Now it bathes me in it's rays
Rewarding me for staying.
Peace comes, and holds-
Knowing it was the perfect time,
Appreciation would come from me.
Now left all alone
I'm surprised
that I'm happy.
Pure and gentle atmosphere
-Purged-
Engulfs me, smothers me
Finally by something that is o.k.
Everything is as it should be
Only better, close to my perfection.
I walk to the river, once engourged by white water-
Now the calm, brook, trickling-
Sit gently and wait-
Wait for you to join me.
Reason for writing:
This isn't like my usual bitter, cynical poems. Finally have some substantial peaceful feelings. :) Not sure if this sounds mushy to any of you though....
