Sitting here all alone I see, There's no one here except me. Left all by myself in this lonely room, Only to be afraid I can assume. It is dark here so I cannot find, The narrow paths that only wind. I sit all alone left to think, As in sad memories I slowly sink. Sad memories from back in the day, When I was with my lover in a special kind of way. Memories from the age of twelve from my future to my past, And even the present but they didn't seem to last. They all started to fade as I sat there all alone. I seemed to forget all the memories I had known. As my eyes rolled back back into my shallow head, I didn't notice but I was almost DEAD! I started to see a faint light, As I saw a young man who stood dressed in white. He started to speak 'It's okay, Start over again, there is a new way.' He walked away and as I awoke, My mother had just gave my side a poke. At that very moment I had to see, That I hadn't sat alone my guardian angel was with me. And he stayed right by my side, He just wanted to always hide. He is there always now I know, To follow me wherever I go.
Reason for writing:
I wrote this poem at a bad time in my life. As I sat in my room all by myself thinking of what had happened between me and my lover, I seemed to remember what my grandmother had always told me. She had told me since I was a little girl that no matter how lonely you were to get in life that one person was always with you whether you could see them or not. My guardian angel.
