wOuLd YoU

by Chritty - Aries

If you saw me on the street
holes in my shoes and blisters on my feet
would you stop and offer me a ride
or would you turn you head the other way
and ignore the guilt inside
If I was a little boy with dirt on my face
and holes in my shirt
no place to call home
would you leave me out in the rain all alone
or would you invite me in
if I was a single mother trying to do my best
working as a waitress a baby on the way
stressed and worried would you leave a tip or would you walk away
If I was a little girl crying in the alley
because my daddy hit my mommy
and I was afraid
she wanted to leave but he made her stay
would you talk behind her back
and laugh
or would you offer to help

All God’s angels are in disguise
only he knows who , where and why
If I showed up at your door and my baby was hungry and I asked for some bread
promised that I would work your land
night and day
would you help or would you turn me away
If I was a pregnant teenage girl
selling her body in this cruel world
would you criticize and hate
or would you help me get my life straight
All God’s angels are in disguise
only he knows who, where and why
hand and hand we roam his land
a beautiful angel in an everyday man
if I was old and lived alone
would you stop by
just for a talk
or would you ignore me and continue to walk
down the street and pretend not to see me
If I was a homeless man unable to work
making my home out on the streets
the war of sixty nine took my legs and feet
would you laugh and stare
and the cripple man in the wheel chair
or would you offer your help
God’s angels are in each one of us
some in disguise some never seen
others brought forward
one disguised himself as the homeless man on the streets

Reason for writing:

A homeless man out in the city a group of friends and me started taking him food he had lost his legs in a war :) be nice to everyone you meet because you may never know who they are
