Silent Refuge

by Samantha Lowe - Scorpio

My tears mesh with the rain
As I stand out here in the cold
You urge me to come back in
Yet all I can do is stand here
Stand here numb to the cold...
Numb to the rain...
Numb to just about everything
Why should I go back in?
When the only time that I feel alive
Is when I'm here
Being swallowed up by the tears of the sky
You come running out
Put your arms around me
As my knees give way
And I find myself just letting go of everything
And anything and nothing all at once
Leave me here
Leave me here in this silent refuge where the only sound
Is the whispering of our breaths
Shh.. don't say a thing
Don't say anything but hold me closer
Hold me tighter
Hold me and never let me go
And as I lay here
Within your strong arms
I cant help but to think
Of how long it took
And how far I've gone
To get here
To get home.
