The Man (Part one of triology)

by Sammy - Capricorn

It's not raining out side tonight

and the smoke's not in his eyes

But does it really matter ?

Haven't you seen a grown man cry ?

He'll survive, this heartbroken man

He'll survive to be loved another time

But his heart will always be with the woman

The one who didn't have the time

Can't you tell that his heart is broken?

Can't you tell that he feels all alone?

Just look at his face, he's cut to the bone

His woman, she's left him, he's on his own.

But he'll survive, this heartbroken man

He'll survive to be loved another time

But his heart will always be with the woman

The one who didn't have the time

He patiently waited for her

Day in, day out, all night long

He burnt the midnight oil

Kept wonderin' ...what he'd done wrong

But he'll survive, this heartbroken man

He'll survive to be loved another time

But his heart will always be with the woman

The one who didn't have the time

As the days grew from weeks into years

With his heart beating only for her

He quietly faded into the night

He passed away, without any fear

And he had survived, this heartbroken man

But never to be loved another time

For his heart was always with the woman

The one who didn't have the time

And into the world of the hereafter

He journeyed, and marked his time

And patiently there he waited

For the woman, who didn't have the time
