I Am The Woman (Part 2 of triology)

by Sammy - Capricorn

I Am The Woman

No, it's not raining outside tonight

and there is no smoke in my eyes

But it is raining within my heart

Can't you tell I'm hurtin' inside ?

For I am the woman,

that didn't have the time

to give all of my love

to that loving man of mine

Sadly I watched him, as he,

All alone in this world, waited for me

But I was to busy, my own life to run,

To take the time, be with him, see the sun

For I am the woman,

that didn't have the time

to give all of my love

to that loving man of mine

I left him alone, broken hearted and cowered

Forlorn and so lonely, and how I wish now

that I'd taken the time, just a minute, an hour

To tell him I loved him, as I do now

For I am the woman,

that didn't have the time

to give all of my love

to that loving man of mine

I wander the night, in the snowy moon chill

watching the moon shadow, the snow covered hill

And the trees with their long velvet shapes

in the moonlight they tell me, there is no escape

For me.... that woman,

that didn't have the time

to give all of my love

to that loving man of mine

And sadly I learned of his passing that day,

broken hearted they said, his heart turned to clay

And there by his bedside, all soiled and tattered

Was a print-out photo, of the woman that mattered

For I am the woman,

that didn't have the time

to give all of my love

to that loving man of mine

And how the years, have quickly flown by,

As I trudge in the snow and search the sky,

For that broken hearted man, that man of mine

Who loved unconditionally,

The woman who didn't have the time.
