If You But Knew If You but knew, how my heart did change, From being sad and heavy laden, To being one, so full of joy, And that all changed by those few lines, And the precious time, you've taken. For you see, in this world, that we live in, Where words are are our only vessel, 'Tis easy to say unforgiving things, To hurt, wound, cut deep, belittle, With unrational thoughts and ridicule, And lashing out, with mindless stupidity. I know I deserve, far much less, Than the Love You bestow on me, But humble, now before you stand , Soul, laid bare, for you to see, A yellow rose in my hand, A token, of my love for Thee. If you but knew, the lessons learned, And the price I almost paid, For these inane thoughts of mine, and the foolish claims I made. But in your heart, I found forgiveness, Your Love far greater than mine, And I have once more been given, a chance To live in your heart one more time.
