Here I Stand

Here I stand, gazing at the outside World.

Tears, trickling down my cheeks,

Thinking of the joy you have

Brought into my life.

I’ve cried so many tears in the past,

But with your words and your laughter,

I now know that I needed someone like

You to wipe them away.

The sorrows and the pain,

Which I have endured, 

Now seem a million miles away, 

But only because you came into my life.

I thank you, for finally making me realise, 

That the tears we cry,

Are not always tears of sorrow,

But tears of happiness ?
