listen to the rain do you hear the sweetness pounding on the roof nature has a funny way another lonely weekend without you I chose to stay home in my dark little room free of any light or annoyance lying on my bed my barefeet dangling off the side a pencil in my hair and a wad of paper lying on the floor in a rustic little pile I watched that movie you know the one you wanted to see in the end he gets the girl things just haven’t been the same since you left but I’m learning to adjust I guess I painted my toenails and I wrote a letter to my grandmother I'm doing okay I guess I know I will be just fine I listened quietly as the rain fell on the roof closed my eyes and thought about you
