Stripper/Poet

by Nicole M. - Gemini

Is it not enough
     Rather mundane
For me just to share the words
    And thoughts inside of me-
Is it just another self-rigtheous
   Know it all poet
When all I expose is my "soul"?
What if I was to really let you see
The real NAKED ME-
What if
when I recited "Coating" to you
I un-buttoned my top and showed you
The black lace covering My pain.
What if
I undid the lace and threw it to you
while I whispered "Lieing" in your ear
       to show you the pain.
What if
this short skirt belonged on my body no more
and it slide past my thighs, knees to be a pile
        on the floor
so I could emphasize what I meant
             in "Overwhelming"
What if
this pink silk bikini so longer stood between you
and me? You could see my vulnerabilty in "Malignant"
Now that you see me
   Completely naked
What if
I let you touch me anyway you pleased.
Whether it was with comfort and a hand on my shoulder
telling me I'm perfect being me
            Or would you touch me
Slap me across the face from the hate you hide
             because you still love me.
       Would you lay me down
Make love to me for any number of reasons-
You find me beautiful or envy what I offer
Or maybe you just care for me
But not like your true love-
There's something you recognize in me
                  My different brand of boldness?

If I stripped and let you feel me
Inside
Or out
How would YOU handle it,
What would you do?
