I Don't Need To Understand

by Thomas Pickering (Elen) - Capricorn

I've heard all about your past
I know the truth behind your face
but that's all behind us now
the real issue is our love

They say you were into mutilation
and that it was your only escape
but I want to focus on what really counts
the love and bond we share

I know the darkness of you thoughts
and the blindness of your ways
I'm here to shed my light into your heart
and be your looking glass into the future

They say never to judge the future by the past
because people and things will always change
and I know that you will change for me
and stop you harmfull ways

I'll never understand what you've been through
and I can't pretned to know
everything you feel inside
but I don't need to understand it
becuase you know I feel the pain within your eyes
I feel pain within your eyes
I don't need to understand
because I feel pain within your eyes

You know those endless sleepless nights
When all you can do is stare and wondor
and you realize the ignorance of being a child
is like never experiencing life?

You know those times when everyone's distant
And the lonliness you always feel
is accompanied by an ever growing strength
Coming from deep within your heart?

And the lonliness you feel
will never disapear
because to you there is no heaven
but to me, you are mine

Reason for writing:

I wrote this because I've known a lot of people who have had some major problems. I've known too many (honestly more then I can count) girls who have resorted to mutiliation because to them it's the only thing that helps. And I've known so many people that I loved to call my friends who kept a shadow over their life. And I've known way to many victims of society that feel they have nohting left to lose and I hope that this can prove them wrong, because I've been there for everyone that I know, and I know there are other people who are willing to be there too.
