You asked me why a man of forty Would want a lady, twenty-three? Perhaps he looked at you and saw The same things that I see. That warm sweet smile--such lovely eyes! So full of charm and grace, A heart that's big enough to love The entire human race! A mind that deals in honesty, Fair play, and loves the truth. Some lose these things as they grow old That had them in their youth. Some folks by life are beaten down, And bitter o'er their fate. Perhaps he sought to find his love Before she learned to hate. For I believe in kindness, love, And treating others right. I may be as old as the wicked queen, But I still love fair Snow White!
Reason for writing:
A young lady I had grown attached to (in a fatherly way) asked me if an older man who had asked her for a date could have good intentions. (Beats hell outa me, I could only tell her how special she was to me.)
