Imagine Yourself at Your Own Funeral

by Samantha Lowe - Scorpio

When all the weight of the world
Is laid upon your shoulders
Don't weep for your misfortune
Don't complain about your situation
Just wait and listen and learn
When all the friends that you thought would never leave
All get up at the same time
And walk out of your life
Don't pout or punch a hole in the wall
Because now you are alone
Keep still and stay strong
When all the hope runs dry
And the river of sorrow flows into your life
And all that you can think of
Consists of ending your life
And throwing away all of your dreams
Turn back and realise what you have
Imagine yourself at your own funeral
Think of the people in your life
Even if they are enemies, family, or just coworkers
Think of them
And then think of the long line there will be
Walking alongside your casket
Gazing at your face
Made swollen by the tears you bled in the ending moments of your life
Even if there is only one person there
You would still have made a difference in someone's life
You would still have caused someone's heart to grow empty
And you would still not have known, who you would grow into
And what would have became of you
If only you had held on
Tried to learn from what happened
And learn to grow from it.

Reason for writing:

A way I've learned to view my life.
