Collateral Damage

by Matthias L. - Capricorn

How are you?
A little edgy again?
I'd say it's
More like guillotine
At least
As self-righteous
And blind
You are
Cutting deep
Blood against blood
Rage
Driving everyone
Between the lines
A petty civil war
Inside four walls
And I'll just duck
And hope
I won't be hit
And none of those
I love
A brief intermission
Where words do fly
Not pottery
Instead of shells
From shelves
Well aware
That at this very moment
We're inside your hands
You are nothing more
It seems
Than a giant
Blinded
Striking
Crushing
Everything
Is there a purpose
We're here
Or is it just
For the sake of
Collateral damage

Reason for writing:

Caught up in a little war at home... such a funny thing it is (from a different point of view - unfortunately not mine)
