why didn't you bloom

by Chritty - Aries

I bought some flower seeds
and planted them in a plastic vase
gave them all my attention
I was happy indeed
after a short while you began to grow
I wanted everyone to know
so I took you outside to play
passed you around to all the kids
they touched your soft petals
and smelled your sweetness
They pretend not to care but I could see
they were all jealous of me
and my beautiful little flower
but to my dismay
you withered up and died
your leaves slowly turned brown
and you slumped to one side
I sat sadly down on the sidewalk and cried
I tried so hard
and sacrificed all that I had
to make a life for you
a happy little flower
I waited day and night for you to bloom
I watered you everyday and gave you lots of love
maybe a little too much
I fed you cookies and chocolate milk
wrapped you up in mommy's silk
mommy said you were fragile
and that I should be extra careful
you were just like a child
very delicate and a sight to see
just like me
I even took you to story time
and remember when we ate chocolate ice-cream together
and when the weather was nice
we jumped rope under the big oak tree
just you and me flower
we played dress up and I always got to be
the mommy because I had legs
everyone was so impressed
with how nice you looked in leather
and we took bubble baths together
but I’m puzzled I don’t know what to do
please tell me flower why didn’t you bloom

Reason for writing:

my precious little neice she tries so hard to be a good gardner this actually happened to her :)
