Laid in Open Court

by Samantha Lowe - Scorpio

I laid my heart out in the open court
For all to judge
The jury took their places
The media, my family, my friends
All sat and prepared
My heart was its own attorney
With the devil as the prosecutor
My heart wept as the charges were brought down
Upon hundreds after hundreds
The list was endless
Or bottomless it seemed
In the end
I was found guilty
Of every single one
And was sentenced to spend the rest of my life
Dwelling in my mistakes.

Reason for writing:

Everyone has secrets that they don't tell anyone about. And some have secrets that pray on their minds until it gets so bad, that everything explodes.
