"Darkness!" whispers dusk
streetlamps fetch their orange brooms
Fend the best they can
* * * * * * * * * *
Dawn is sleeping sound
Snow tip-toes down in the night
Doesn't leave a print!
* * * * * * * * * *
Tempting garbage can
Crashes - litters the alley
Clawed tramp scales a fence
And outruns the blame...
* * * * * * * * * *
Mud, like melted sweets
dribbles down to the damp road
spoils a fresh green bib
* * * * * * * * * *
Dead leaves on the land
instantly vanish by spring
when trees' fingers throb
* * * * * * * * * *
