Heart Ache

Heart Ache

The sensation starts in each foot, in your toes and swiftly runs through each toe individually. Then it flows to the arch of your foot and wraps itself up and around your ankle. You can’t move. Next it shoots up your shins and coils inside your knees. Locking your legs stiff. It darts up your quads and swirls inside your hips. It joins together in your stomach. Messing everything around and then it splits again and sprints through your lungs. Your breaths, short and quick. Flies up your sides and repels off your shoulders into your biceps, rocks your elbows and sends tingles to your hands and fingers. Sweat pushing through. It rebounds up the triceps to the shoulders again and now the collarbone. Collects, and creeps up your neck into the back of your spine where it divides and rushes to your ears. You hear nothing. It scurries to your temples pounds them so hard they feel as if they are bursting. It sweeps to your eyes carrying along tears, which it throws through your pupils. It runs to your nose causing it to drip and then to your mouth and jaw forcing them to drop. Then B-lines all the force left directly towards the heart. That is its destination. With every thought of the event growing stronger, and stinging a little more.
