Your Years Are Over

by Heather Williams - Libra

In the past four years
I was nothing
I hid within the crowd
I tried to come out
But the pretty girls teased me
I went back into hiding
Now today begins the rest of
Both of our lives
You'll finally get to see how it feels
To not fit in
How it feels to not be the teacher's pet
I see now that it was only high school
Maybe it shouldn't matter so much
But as I step out on my own
Completly independent from all others
I feel sorry for you
Knowing that popularity can no longer back you up

Reason for writing:

To all of those who feel unwanted: The world gets brighter everyday. :)
