Put Me Down

by Heather Williams - Libra

Most of them go off to college
That their parentes will pay for
They'll live in dorms
That their parents pay for
And they'll live off fast food
Paying with the check mommy sent yesterday
They'll come home with their little degrees
Putting me down because maybe I will still be here
Maybe I won't be
I didn't need to walk into life with a map
And take away all things enjoyable
I haven't been my best
I'm being given the chance to finally start over
So maybe you'll grow
Maybe you won't
I have today and that's all I need

Reason for writing:

Live for yourself. Don't try to impress anybody except yourself. Do what YOU want to do.
