The phone rings as I walk in, I was not expecting it at all Then I listen to the sadness, that death had come to call The family members gather, as fond memories now are told By familiar, once young faces, that are now gray and growing old The family is now gathered, as the parlor now seems small A word of love, a gentle hug, and a promise that we will call So seldom brought together, we have so little time and much to do Yet when death comes a calling, we hear of memories we never knew I stood silent at the grave site, then drove on down memory lane To look at strangely familiar places, that no longer look the same Take time today to spread a smile or shake an out stretched hand For the memory that you make in life, may be as endless as the sand You never know when it's your time and death will come to call Or when the family will come to gather, in a parlor that seems small Take time my friend beneath the cross, reach for the Master's hand So the next time the family gathers, it will be in the promised landBirth sign: Libra
