by Heather Williams - Libra

I let the feelings enter all at once
Smelling my mom's chocolate pudding cake
Takes me back to when I was so young
Sitting on the counter
Scraping what was left of the batter from the bowl
Hearing the ran fall hard on my father's deck
Takes me back to last year
When I fell in love with the boy
Who acted like Justin Timberlake
And I remember it wasn't that that made me fall
But the way he carried himself to me
Sitting on my grandmother's couch
Smelling the smell that never goes away
Taking me back to when I was so young
When I didn't understand anything
And understanding nothing was alright
It came with a pure happiness
You fools, don't you see why I stay?
