NIGHT

by Liverpool Lass - Pisces

Daylight was fading - shadows creeping in.
She'd another night listening to the din
Of the teenagers outside creating a noise.
It was a regular happening with both girls and boys.
So she turned up the volume on her T.V.
And settled down with the her knitting on her knee.
A holiday programme was being shown
Which just made her feel more alone.
She decided to make a cup of tea
But suddenly found it hard to see.
Outside the noise got louder and she heard glass break.
Feeling so frightened she started to shake.
What should she do? Phone the police?
Or maybe she'd better call her neice?
A hand reached through the window as the noise got higher.
Then she heard a voice shout "Lady, your house is on fire"

Reason for writing:

    Not all youth are bad.
