After The Storm

by Erica Hughes - Libra

You have no authority
but plenty of balls,
fuck this pity pitter patter tear drop
blood stained letter,
I am drowning in,
flooded by a tsunami of pain,
you caused,
caught me off guard,
I thought you washed away my pain,
-- you drowned me in it,
i love too hard,
I lay like beaches,
after the big storm,
palm trees torn,
laying beneath stormy skies
wet sands sprayed on windows afar,
barely covered dead bodies lyin in torn cloth,
whales washed ashore,
like my heart,
the carnage of dead fish,
gasping for life, and the safety of their blue world,
as am I,
i long for the tropical paradise, that we called our love,
safe and warm,
I lay ravaged like a tropical paradise,
after the storm...
