an afterthought

by scott lazarus - Taurus

One week
of cigarettes and coffee
later

I was watching
eight legs and
eyes
crawl up
the hotel floral print

she found me
reeling
in a room I hadn't paid for
just beyond the border where
she stuck her forceps in
entered and exploded.
