The Small Things You Miss

by Heather Williams - Libra

A mutual parting
We both understood it was for the best
Thinking back it wasn't great anyway
Rereading what I wrote about you
A heavy feeling grew in my heart
About the first day we got together
All the times at work we talked
The way you kissed my forehead
Tackled me and threw me in the sink
The way you kissed me
And the way you held my hand
And the ways I got to play with your hair
And coo at you little ears
My heart was in it
And now that you're gone
I miss all the small things
