Altered Mind

by Heather Williams - Libra

Her mind is fading away
Nothing has been the same
Since her husband left with the Lord
She doesn't remember me much anymore
She calls me by my mother's name
She mistakes things
She forgot who her own daughter was
She walks aimlessly around the house
Searching for things she can do
She'll leave the tea kettle pluged in
Until somebody else remembers
Something she's forgotten to do

Reason for writing:

    My grandmother.
