Forgotten Words

by Tom Clark - Capricorn

Alone we enter,
And alone we leave,
So what is better,
To believe.

That in all things,
We did what’s right,
We struggled through,
With all our might.

That in this realm,
For this short time,
We stood our ground,
And walked the line.

Or could it be,
That in our haste,
Some precious things,
We left to waste.

Forgetting that,
In all we live,
The best of all,
Is what we give.
