Fame ( You want obscurity)

by S. L. Butterworth - Pisces

Look out,
insides too dark to clean.
Don't play it down,
it's who you are.
Shout out your depravity,
It's your badge of honour,
and the only one you have.
The very world will give you advice.
Ignore it,
Ignore everything,
and climb up those golden stairs,
flash bulbs blinding you,
to your alter,
your throne.
Sit there and weep at your beauty.
Oh, it's too much,
too much,
so you break down,
and the illusion is gone.
You wrap yourself in paper,
black symbols scrybed on its white faces,
to keep you warm,
as toast.
And soon enough you boil,
and your hair bursts into flames,
and your pleading screams go unheard,
falling into the water that is out of your reach.
Obscurity,
how that glides accross your tongue,
as smooth as ice,
and it cools you down,
until you freeze,
and it's then you relize,
nothing will ever do.
