waiting room

by Steve - Leo

"waiting room"
if only you'd see through
enough to take my hand

give all i have to you
wish i could understand

faithful to conviction
take the backseat to myself

humbled by your smile
but gather dust up on your shelf

you hear me voice support
but disregard the words

a sigh through darkened eyes
the thought must be absurd

footsteps of another
come to steal you once again

one more round of pain served fresh
one more for me to mend

the healing touch surrounds
but cleanses not your soul

and i just sit here waiting
how long until i fold?

slow motion is revealing...
