We sit motionless beneath the black night skies, While the sparkling moonlight splashes into the pools of your deep brown eyes. I feel so connected to you, we can be like kids again, Not caring about anything but the moment we are in. You pull me in closer and I can tell something wonderful is about to start, You place your hand gently on my cheek with your fingers spread ever so slightly apart. I can feel you looking into my eyes while you search for something that I want so badly to be able to show you, I know that you want to dive right in yet you take it slow, you can tell just what I've been through. At first I questioned the way I felt about this, But my doubts were washed away with just one kiss. I am so glad I gave us a chance, it's just you and me. I didn't know it before, but this is exactly how it was supposed to be.
Reason for writing:
I had a hard breakup with my last boyfriend and after 8 months I'm finally ready to move on. This poem is about my new boyfriend who I sort of "went out" with before, and how I gave him and myself a second chance.
