Pewter Vase

The pewter vase has just a scene
Another’s life so fresh and clean
                Time is frozen immortally
                Upon the vase so prettily

Or are they only our desires?
                 To catch a memory afire
Within our minds oh don’t you see
                The perfect harmony of we
Who chance to celebrate with glee
Within the scene that’s captured, gee!

This vase contains a grace it’s own
Which will enthrall those in your home
It may contain a scene of Rome
             Or maybe picture someone’s nome

You have to decide on the sense
That it might bring to you your fence
Which you have built for recompense
Within this world which can be dense

Back to the vase I think I’ll go
And maybe get a laugh HO! HO!
Or you might want a cup of Joe
To contemplate this tale of woe
