I switch on the TV and what do I see? Crimes, hatred, violence, and death When did our society become to corrupt? Have you ever noticed that every show has violence in it? What makes it so entertaining? When we see someone fighting our eyes are transfixed on the screen Unable to look away It’s a part of all of us Whether disgusted or amused It’s a sight that even if you look away you always sneak a peak I’ve watched the children’s [cartoon] shows Even there I can see it These images of racism and abomination that are stowed away in their undeveloped minds How sick and diseased we have become? Like a plague that attacks the soul We have become numb to the seriousness of it all Violence today is so nonchalant that it doesn’t even phase us anymore We hear and see it everyday But who cares as long as it’s not happening to you When in reality it affects us all Take a look at the daily news Then you’ll realize they shouldn’t call it “News” Because it’s not very new
