The vexing night crept in
Bringing with it the bedeviled wind.
It called with an eerie silence
"Michael"
"Michael"
It hissed
"You have nothing Michael"
"Noone cares"
Outside the window I saw
One
Desolate
Mighty tree
Giving battle
Swaying, bending
Bending, swaying
Refusing to be conqured
Loud
Agonizing
Crackle
A branch came hudeling down
to an awaiting ground.
The clouds started outpouring drops of grief
As beads of salty wetness leaked
from my own eyes.
Vanquished
Crushed
Humbled
I hit my knees submiting
abondoned
companionless
Lightning struck and thunder shook my world
In celebration of its victory
And I prayed,
prayed,
prayed,
For the light and peace
of a new day
Reason for writing:
I was depressed.
